Critical Areas - Small Penetrations

Any penetration in the EIFS surface may be a potential source for water intrusion if it isn't properly sealed, and the small penetrations tend to be commonly overlooked.

The EIFS was applied around this hose bib - an improper installation detail.  All penetrations should be properly sealed with an industry-approved sealant to prevent potential moisture intrusion.    The pictures below show some types of small penetrations that have to be sealed properly.
